Thank You For Supporting Our Schools!
On Tuesday, November 5 the Mariemont City Schools levy PASSED!
Issue 27 Will:
- Keep STRONG teachers in our classrooms
- Maintain STRONG academic programs and opportunities for our kids
- Protect our STRONG property values
Without this levy, our schools would have faced $3.1 million in cuts. We would have lost 32 high-performing teachers and staff members; class size increases and other opportunities for kids. This was not a threat, but the reality our schools would have faced because of the way school funding works in Ohio.
Fast Facts
- Mariemont Schools continue to excel. Our district is consistently ranked as one of the best in the region, state and nation!
- Mariemont Schools operate with strong financial stewardship. Our district stretched the dollars from the last operating levy (2018) two years longer than expected, even amid rising inflation and bare-minimum state funding.
- Mariemont Schools don’t receive additional dollars when property values increase. Our district collects the same amount of voted property taxes even when property values change. This is Ohio law.
- Mariemont Schools need Issue 27 to keep teachers in classrooms and maintain programs and services for kids. Our district will need to cut $3.1 million from the budget without additional funding—impacting class sizes and academic programs.
